General Questions

Q: Should I use travel insurance?

A:All our programs are designed to include trip coverage. Please visit our travel insurance link "Travel Gurad". We highly recommend that you purchase the plan that is adequate and comprehensive before your departure. Be sure to purchase travel insurance that can protect you against any trip cancellations, baggage damage or loss, accidents, or ill health. Your insurance should cover you before and during your trip.

Accommodations

Q: What kind of rooms will I stay in?

A: Run of the house rooms as listed in itineraries. All rooms are twin or double bedded with private facilities (bath or shower). All hotel taxes and service charges are included. In case of any variations that might occur, CCT reserves the right to substitute hotels of similar category.

Q: What if I want to share a room?

A: Sharing of accommodations is on a request basis and will be confirmed according to availability. If it is not available, passengers must pay the single supplement which is offered on all of our tours. If we succeed in finding a share, then a refund of this supplement will be issued.

Q: What are the cabins on the cruise like?

A: Accommodations are based on outside cabins, all with private facilities. Suite cabins are available upon request with an extra surcharge. All meals and shore excursions are included. Cruise companies reserve the right to alter itineraries and/or change vessels should this become necessary without prior notice.

Q: Are meals included in the price?

A: As specified in itineraries by the symbols B, L, D (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)r. Meals on cruises consist of breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.

Q: Are tours and excursions extra?

A: Tour transportation is via luxurious, air-conditioned bus or car depending on the number of passengers traveling together. Each trip is guided by a professional, licensed, English-speaking Egyptologist. All sightseeing as per itineraries include entrance fees to museums and archeological sites, all taxes, and related services. All shore excursions in conjunction with a cruise and tours not listed under "Tour Features" are optional excursions.

Q: Will there be people to help with my baggage?

A: All transfers are included as specified in the itinerary, including meeting, assistance, and porterage to and from airports, hotels, and cruises. Due to government and international regulations, porters are not allowed inside customs and security areas at the airport. Luggage carts are available for passenger usage until they are outside the customs area where porterage and assistance services are provided by CCT representatives.

Q: How accurate are the itineraries?

A: The sequence of events and places visited may change from the order shown. However, all tour features will remain the same. A final itinerary will be prepared by CCT prior to your departure. CCT reserves the right to substitute hotels/cruises in case of unforeseen events beyond our control.

Q: What is not included in the price?

A: The following items are not included in the trip price:

  • Airport departure taxes
  • Passport and visa fees
  • Meals not listed in the itinerary
  • Food items and beverages ordered in addition to the provided meals
  • Laundry, valet services, personal items, excess baggage charges, telephone or cable charges, and souvenirs
  • Tips to your tour guides, bus or car drivers, local staff, hotel personnel, stewards on cruises, waitresses and chambermaids, etc.

Payment Questions

Q: What deposits are required?

A: A deposit of US$250 is required at the time of booking and submission of a completed reservation form. The balance is payable 60 days prior to departure. If a reservation is made within 30 days or less, full payment is required. All Payments are in US dollars and are to be made to CCT by credit card, cashier's check, or money order. Reservations are made by individual name. If you request any changes to be made to your tour after receiving confirmation, a handling fee of $35 per person will be charged.

Q: What if I have to cancel my trip?

A: If it becomes necessary to cancel a booking. a $100 non-refundable administration fee will be applied to all deposits or payments made towards any tour package. Cancellation penalties will be assed as follows:

  • 59 days to 45 days prior to departure - 10%
  • 44 days to 30 days prior to departure - 25%
  • 29 days to 15 days prior to departure - 50%
  • 14 days to 0 days prior to departure - 100%

Q: How do you handle refunds?

A: All cancellation / refund claims must be in writing and will be applied from the date that it is received at the CCT office. No refunds will be made for unrendered services made by the client's own choice. Any airfare which is purchased with a package will be refunded according to the airline's cancellations policies plus $50 administrative fees.

Q: My check bounced, now what?

A: If a check fails to clear, a charge of $30 will be applied for the overdraft fee. In addition, the reservation may be cancelled if it is within 29 days of departure. To rebook, a late book fee of $50 will be charged, as we must wire and resend the data overseas.
